Paper about SMIM26 published in Genes & Development

Congrats to Anastasia, whose collaborative work on identifying the function of the microprotein SMIM26 with the lab of Gunter Meister at the University of Regensburg is now published in Genes & Development! In the new manuscript we found that SMIM26 connects metabolite transporters of the outer and inner mitochondrial membranes, which is essential for respiratory chain function.
